     Payment Policies:

    • General Policies

      • Prior to your first session, we will collect your payment information. Your payment method will be charged on the day of each appointment.

      • You will be unable to meet with your therapist or schedule future appointments if you have any outstanding/unpaid invoices for a previous session, a late cancellation fee, or a no-show fee. Once these are paid, we will be able to proceed.

    • Private Payments

      • Private Payments refer to payments made outside of insurance. For example, if you have insurance that we do not accept.

      • Private payments are processed through an app called IVY (Ivy Labs). IVY is a HIPAA-compliant mobile payment app. Once your first session is scheduled, we will send you a link to sign up and submit payment information.

      • We are able to provide receipts called Superbills for you to provide to your insurance for reimbursement. Please allow 7-10 business days after the request to receive the Superbill.

    • Insurance Payments

      • Insurance payments will be processed through either Alma or Headway.

      • Copays are paid to Alma or Headway directly.

      • You may receive your first invoice a few weeks after the first session, though it usually sends sooner.

      • We strongly recommend signing up for auto-pay.

      • Insurances do not cover late cancellation or no-show fees! Late cancellation and no-show fees will be charged to the payment method on file.

    Cancellation and Lateness Policies:

    • When you make an appointment with me, that is the time I reserve exclusively for you.

    • Please notify us 12+ hours prior to the appointment time to avoid a fee.

    • You can email, text, or leave a voice message after hours and we will honor the timestamp. (e.g. you can send an email at 2am to cancel the next day’s appointment, and we will respond during business hours)

    • Canceling an appointment within 12 hours or not showing up to an appointment will result in a fee.

      • Late cancellation fee = $50

      • No-show fee = $55

    • Late Cancel vs. No-Show

      • A no-show fee will be charged if a client does not attend a scheduled session, does not notify of us canceling a session, or joins more than 15 minutes late since we can no longer offer a full session at that point.

      • A late-cancel fee will be charged if a client notifies us of a cancellation within 12 hours.

      • Example: Bob realizes he cannot meet with his therapist on Tuesday at 2pm, which is the time for which he is scheduled.

        • On Monday – the day beforehand – he calls the office at 3pm and asks to reschedule. There is no fee charged since it is more than 12 hours prior.

        • On Tuesday – the day of the appointment – he realizes he cannot meet with his therapist that day. He calls the office to reschedule. There will be a late-cancellation fee charged because it is within 12 hours.

        • On Tuesday at 2:05, Bob realizes he never notified the therapy office that he cannot make it. He notifies his therapist (or forgets to notify them altogether). There will be a no-show fee charged.
